COMMUNITY SERVICE

Metro Atlanta Chapter understands that it takes a cooperation to ensure an enduring and thriving community. To that end, the chapter has formed strategic partnerships with community outreach organizations located in the Metropolitan Atlanta area. These partnerships ensure the chapter is able to fulfill its mission or service to the university and service to the community.

The Community Services Outreach Committee is responsible for creating and coordinating outreach efforts to enhance and to strengthen the ties between the Chapter and community. The committee meets as necessary according to the outreach event and schedule.

Goals:

1. To use University ideals to promote community growth and enrichment by exercising our political and economic powers.

 2. To support JSU and it students in any community endeavor it undertakes.

BLANKET DRIVE

JSUMAC will host a blanket drive during the annual Holiday party. Please bring in new blankets that will be given to Scepter Senior Living Center of Snellville to assist the elderly residents during the cold moths and help spread a little holiday cheer. Spread the word!

OPEN HAND/ATLANTA

At Open Hand, people from all walks of life come together to touch the lives of thousands of others who are not as fortunate. And our volunteers have a lot of fun in the process—due in part to our wonderful food service and distribution staff that, along with other remarkable volunteers, make them feel as though they are always among friends.

HOSEA FEED THE HUNGRY

From preventing homelessness in working families to providing emergency food for students, and from making sure that children have school supplies to delivering Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to the homes of senior citizens, we engage in a wide range of human services all year long.
